Malda is in West Bengal well knowable as English Bazaar. Otherwise knowable as Mango City, English Bazaar is situated on the banks of Mahananda River. Malda holds first women’s court in India. Malda district was formed by the year 1813, by 1832, treasury was formed, and also in 1859 collector was nominated. Till 1876, Malda was under Rajshahi division, and then to 1905, Malda was under Bhagalpur division. Then Malda was again moved to Rajshahi division, during partition, Malda was affected whether to be present in India or in Pakistan, therefore it was under East Pakistan, later it remained in West Bengal. The products which make the place famous among other cities are jute, mango and silk.
