Mahe is one of the small towns belonging to Puducherry. Also knowable as Mayyazhi, but it is located near Kerala and is bounded by this state on each of its sides. Mahe was the part of Kolathu Nadu, before European powers got their powers in India. It was by 1724, a fort was constructed in Mahe. By 1761, British did capture Mahe. This happened due to the French Revolutionary wars. Mahe was a union territory, after the French powers left so. Malayalam, Tamil, Tamil, French are the languages spoken here.
