Kollam is otherwise knowable as Quilon, in the state of Kerala, The God’s own country. It was earlier knowable as Desinganadu. Also, knowable as prince of Arabian Sea, cashew Capital of the world, thus Kollam is a coastal place situated on the banks of Ashtamudi Lake. Kollam is at a distance of around 71 km from the place of the state’s capital, whereby this place acted as the flourishing port while Chera dynasty ruled. Also, it was ruled by Portuguese, Dutch etc. Kollam sea port was found by mar Abo, who ordered Chera king to create it.
