Kathua is a city in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The word Kathua is derived from Thuan in the language of Dogri, which refers to Scorpions. Kathua is also believed to be that Rishi Kashyap has disguised himself in the form of Tortoise, Kashua, who engaged in meditation, and thus the place got its name so. It is otherwise knowable as City of Sufis. The culture followed here is PAHARI which is Uttar depicting much of Pradesh’s. Also, Ram Leela is performed here.
